Our Story

33 Jewels was established in 2005 by founder Diane Garmendia.

Diane comes by her passion for jewels naturally - her grandfather owned a fine jewelry store while she was growing up in New Jersey. When she was only seven years old, he pulled out a small velvet pouch and poured a stream of diamonds into her cupped hands. That sense of admiration for fine gemstones has since motivated her to pursue her dreams of owning her own store.

Once her grandfather passed away and, subsequently, his store closed, Diane ventured out to California to follow her dreams, working in a fine jewelry store where she met and learned from modern masters of the trade. Finally, Diane decided to open her own store front.

As a woman-owned fine jewelry store, our jewelry selection is very unique, having something for every taste - we know what the ladies want! Our tag line, "Where Santa Barbara Gets Engaged" lets you know we have the most unique selection of engagement and wedding bands. Our estate jewelry collection spans from the Victorian era through Edwardian, Deco, Nouveau and through the 1950's. 33 Jewels also represents a diverse group of jewelry designers who use diamonds and precious stones in contemporary and varied designs.

For the men we have a wide variety of wedding bands bands and fashion rings, money clips and pens, as well as other gent's accessories.

We have a full workshop upstairs, and a Master Jeweler who does repairs, specializes in custom work and refurbishes old unworn jewelry into new favorite pieces.
